„Very pleased with it.
Not the cheapest Class B on the market but the following features make it worth the extra for me:
1/ Low average operating current compared with other class B transponders. Good for reducing battery drain.
2/ Built-in CPA/TCPA and anchor alarm functions means that you can still have protection without your PC/chartplotter switched on. Good for reducing battery drain.
3/ Data logger with SD card.
4/ Can be used with a PC chart plotter entirely from the USB connection. This is not made clear in the manual but is obviously an important feature.
Some parts of the English translation of the technical manual are a little unclear. Operation of the data logging and anchor alarm is not explained very well.“
Passive GPS antennas are usually used for positioning AIS transponders, but some chart plotters also offer the option to connect a passive GPS antenna. These antennas do not transmit a complete NMEA data set.
