Orion Tr Smart battery to battery Charger 12-12 V 30 A. What is the difference betem isolated and non isolated models ?

In most boats and vehicles with multiple batteries (e.g. starter battery, service battery, winch/bow thruster battery), the battery MINUS terminals are connected to each other and to the boat/vehicle ground. The common MINUS eases charging current distribution, but also provides a path for interference signals from one DC network to another.
Galvanically isolated B2B devices are used on special boats/emergency vehicles to break ground loops and thus protect sensitive technical equipment from sources of interference.

CENTAUR 12V / 40A Battery Charger / 3 outputs

How can I charge Lithium batteries with this charger ?
Answer:

As you can see in the operating instructions, the unit is designed for charging lead-acid battery types. Optimum charge/float voltages for Flooded Lead-acid, Gel or AGM batteries are selectable by DIP switches, see chart in the manual.
Whether the lithium battery can still be charged with a Centaur depends on the lithium battery's BMS. Ask the battery manufacturer or look very careful at the operating instructions and the technical data of the battery. There you should find clear information about the required charging parameter.

CENTAUR 12V / 30A Battery Charger / 3 outputs

I own a Centaur 12-40 installed in my sailing boat, charging two banks of batteries. Start bank and service bank. Service bank includes two 90 Amp Victron Gel batteries. I intend now to change this ones for two 100 A LiFePO4 (lithium). This Lithium batteries demand Charge Voltage 14,6 volts and Float Charge 13,5 volts.
The charge voltage for LA (Especially flooded lead acid batteries) indicated in the Manual is accurately 14,5 Absorption Charge, and 13,5 on Float, so exact voltages for Lithium.
Is it possible to charge LiFePO4 (Lithium) batteries with this charger ?
Thanks for any info.

Sorry Manuel, we cannot answer your question clearly. Your Centaur is designed for charging lead-acid batteries. According to the manual, it delivers 14.5 or 13.5 volts (lead-acid setting). This may fit, but what you also have to take into account is that the Centaur's lead-acid charging characteristic is temperature compensated. It is assumed that battery and charger are in an environment with "normal room temperature" (20-25°C). An integrated temperature sensing reduces the charging voltage by -12mV/°C for a 12 V battery. Example: At a temperature difference of + 15 K, the charging voltage would be 0.18 V lower, i.e. only at approx. 14.3 V. Lithium batteries are charged with a constant voltage without temperature compensation. We cannot tell you whether the BMS of your lithium battery can handle the variable charging voltages of your Centaur.

Copper color is on an fresh air, after coating. When boat is immersed, color getting graphite.

Copper colour stays before immersion. On water copper oxidizes and turn gray. That’s normal.
It is a very good antifouling. I’ve been using it the last three years, works nicely on my J109.
