The cards have been known to me for years and are of good quality, the technical advice from SVB because of the size of the memory card (from 2 GB to 8 GB) was correct, it was correctly pointed out that there was no experience as to whether the 8 GB card was from one older C-80 plotter is read. But I had already tested that with a friend's card, it works fine. What is not OK is that the card reader USB adapter was defective and immediately led to a system crash when it was used, in which the computer shut down completely. With my own card reader, the card update worked perfectly.
