With the old alternator, the charge indicator light never went out completely, it kept glowing. The new one is working flawlessly so far. Remarkably, the mounting holes in the original alternator are also too large (10mm for an 8mm bolt).
As always, the alternator was delivered quickly and works perfectly after installation. Since it has more power and is therefore larger, it just fits with the installation, but still without any changes (standard LiMa 35A on the Yanmar 2GM).
The LiMa does what it should. However, assembly was a bit tricky. The contacts for the LR connector are mounted slightly offset in the housing (below the appropriate opening for the connector). The LR plug could only be plugged in with difficulty and uncleanly after the contact tongues were slightly bent. The pulley is made of plastic (while ON the original Hitachi the pulley is made of aluminium). I'm curious about the durability.
Unfortunately, the mounting holes are 10mm instead of 8mm like the original alternator. I only noticed too late after the water pump bearing was destroyed by the oblique pull of the V-belt. With two sockets and a new water pump I got it to work. The V-belt pulley is also a bit too narrow. I have a 2GM Yanmar
