I have now used the hook 4 times on vacation, 2 times something went wrong. Once the metal line holder was pulled into the closed hook eyelet (Murphy says hello) and then jammed, so it took me a while to get the line free again. The other time I caught a stern buoy but the line fell out of its own holder before I could catch it. Both times the berthing maneuver went more or less wrong. Easy as pie. With such fatal design flaws, the product is completely overpriced.

Vulnerable to break
A great invention and easy to use. Unfortunately a rotating part of the hook is weak, it breaks easily. On the video the hook is made of a metal, on the shipment it was made of plastic. It seems that spare parts are not available, so the hooks environmental impact is big due a short life span.
Hello, Also bought 3 years ago, little used because quickly seized (as always in good times), dismantled, cleaned, greased (Harken), I replaced it with the Diffusion hardware mooring guide ref M65120, without complicated mechanism, that works perfectly. I recovered the handle of the Hook & Moor to adapt a classic gaff to it (the gaff is a bit expensive !!!) Conclusions I do not recommend this type of product, the mechanism certainly superb but too complicated and too fragile for a marine environment. Too bad because I had been thrilled by the idea at the start.
