At first glance, the Silentwind makes a very good impression and looks like solid workmanship and good quality. I can only say something about the function after installation, but the first impression is that the set of turbine and controller is a good buy. Shipping to Greece worked first class!

Overall, everything is good. However, I cannot compare with other devices because this is my first wind generator. If I anchor with other boats and think I compare this generator, I can see that others start rotating much earlier. So need less wind. But not all. There are also quieter but mostly much louder ones. I have prepared myself that this flat share simply needs more wind to run. But if it then runs steadily upwards from 12 knots, then you hear almost nothing. But I like listening to the flat share because it shows that electricity is produced. What I like very, very well is the manually switchable wind brake or, if you forget to switch it on, the automatic braking of the rotor. I tested this and everything works fine in 2 years. It is a very good feeling when you are on shore and you know that if you forgot to stop manually, this will automatically work even when the strong wind is coming up and nothing can break. However, I chose a separate controller for my solar panels, simply for the reason that if 1 breaks, I still have 1 source of power generation. I am very satisfied. And I mention that I tend to rate on the strict side.

Everything with SVB was very good. When installing I was not quite satisfied with the quality of fittings and mounting hardware. Otherwise, I am pleased that I can produce electricity like that. The manufacturer says, that from 2 meters per second wind, electricity is produced, but that tells me nothing. According to my findings runs under 10 knots nothing. I would have expected much different! I'm also not so excited that right under the wind generator, where the pole is inserted, it wobbles when the wind generator is running. And that although I am welded in the Mite of the rod to the railing and uppermost under the housing, the mouth clamp is firmly connected by means of rod to the solar ark. So I would not have to have any vibrations. The nice thing is that I do not feel disturbed by the sound of the rotors. On the contrary, I am glad to hear this light hum. When I'm at the cockpit table or in the salon, I already hear nothing. Also, the on and off the case, especially with the red dot indicating whether the electric brake is turned on, is very good. I pulled the stopper switch to the control panel and am always happy to make it so easy. We're sailing to New Zealand soon and it's just good to know that in addition to solar, you can also use the wind for electricity. I have not yet come into the situation where the automatic power brake does the on-rotor automatically stop, but I'm looking forward to it. Now I just hope that this device and all its components will do me no harm for the next 30 years.
