The fan makes a very stable impression. Compared to the other solar fans available on the market, it is certainly the top model; but also correspondingly expensive. The fan comes on the foredeck. I will therefore create a neoprene ring that closes the air inlet because absolute waterproofness is not to be expected when a wave goes over it.
Bought the older version which had a disturbing sound just from the beginning. After a year the motor died and I contacted SVB who asked me to send back the unit. As it was mounted on the boat in Greece that wasn't possible but after I hade contact the manufactor directly instead they sent me a new on (newer model) without an fuzz, which was highly apreciated and really good customer care! Unfortunatly even this unit had that very annoying bearing noice and, even worse, I really couldn't notice any ventilation at all. In the end it was replaced by a passive cowl from Air-only (really recommendable and I suggest SVB to consider to offer them). Now the ventilation works (as long there is some wind) and without any noice.
I ordered a Marenco D & N3 solar fan. After installation, it is clear that this system does not work. The humidity level is 90% when you wake up every morning. Really disappointed given the high price of this product
I got the fan on February 20th. Bought. During a test run, the part seemed very loud to me and I claimed it. After 2 weeks I got a fan back. Probably the same part. The fan was very loud again. I then installed the part in the boat. Result Only to be used when you are not on board! You can even hear the unpleasant running noise from the neighboring boat in the harbor. The only positive workmanship and quality (except fan itself) is good
The replacement device (?) Also triggers tinnitus and a suction or blowing effect cannot be detected. The only, and unique, joy is looking at the concentric waves after throwing the part overboard.
