It is important that, according to the description, this filter can be installed on the suction side of the diesel pump - i.e. in front of the pump between the tank and the pump. Since our diesel tank simply uses a cavity in the steel hull that is not particularly easy to access (should be changed, but it is only planned later.), a lot of dirt, mucus and water was sucked in by the pump in the early days. The blocked pump then causes the motor to fail and had to be dismantled, disassembled and cleaned several times, or even replaced entirely. It hasn't happened since I've been using a biocide additive to diesel, but I don't trust peace. An alternative to this pre-filter would be a pre-tank day tank, which is integrated between the main tank and the engine and filled, checked and filtered. Dirt could settle there and the quality of the diesel in this tank can be kept under control through inspection openings and/or corresponding drain cocks and inspection glasses. What an extra effort! Hopefully this filter will serve that purpose in a similar way. Here, too, the sight glass must be checked regularly and water and dirt removed. I'll see what it brings.
