Einfacher geht es nicht.
We have the Camino 108s in the course of a technology refit connected to our old antenna and operate behind a new Raymarine Ray52 radio. Furthermore, a fusion radio and a NMEA 2000 network are connected. Everything works perfectly. Such a good radio reception we have never had -D installation was a breeze. All necessary cables are included (even the antenna cable for the radio) which made it almost a plug and play configuration. You just have to fuel the Camino via USB cable and software with the ship data and off you go. If you know where the included GPS antenna comes from, you can make the programming in advance at home. The Camino is powered by USB during programming and does not require a 12V connection. The included antenna is small and has a great reception. We have installed the antenna in the cupboard under the gangboard and she has full reception there. Installation effort in about 5 min. The Camino also outputs its GPS signal via NMEA 2000 and 0183 and serves as a redundant antenna if the plotter or the network GPS antenna fails. All in all, I am very impressed with the small box. She does exactly what she is supposed to do and that's good too. The range in the reception area lies with our mast antenna (approx. 18m) with more than 20sm. We still have to test the transmission range. I can fully recommend the product.

Nice product, yet to prove performance
The transponder has been installed and it seems to work fine, except for a few things first, I was surprised not find the NMEA-2000 kit included, which caused me a headache in procuring it.
I could hence not integrate it yet in the boat's network, and only operate it it as a standalone unit.
Second, In was unable to see its position report in any of the usual AIS web-based tools such as FindShip or Vessel Finder.
Third, from the instructions, it's not clear if the unit can work just relying on the GPS data in the NMEA network, so I don't need to install its own GPS antenna.
I will appreciate your help in sorting out these issues.

excellent product
Installed in one hour, integrated into a RAYMARINE SEATLK NG network using an adapter. GPS antenna under deck in a cupboard (polyester boat). Very easy to configure via the software provided. Position issued immediately. Nothing to complain about, very good product

Genreally good product Some comments 1. the GPS antenna cable has a large connector, which makes installation difficult. There are no instructions how to cut and reconnect the cable. Diy connectors for this type of cable are difficult to find. Although not optimal, in my case a straightforward cut and connect with a terminal strip well. 2. The VHF is connected when AIS powered off; The signal on the car-radio antenna is attenuated when the epower is or. So if you want to listen to the car radio, you have to switch on the AIS on (and use .2A) 3. it would be nice if silent mode could be switched through a computer interface. 4. It would also be nice if there was a documented specification of the control interface as used by the AMEC configuration tool. This would help integration in advanced navigation systems like I have on my yacht
