I have a MEACO dehumidifier on board my ships - on which I live permanently. On a ship with a relatively low volume, an effective dehumidifier is absolutely a must. My first one is still running and the new owner is just as happy with it. Well, for my new ship I ordered this DD8L. It is the absolute best product on the market. Whether on a ship or in a permanent country residence, this device ensures permanently optimal humidity. I cannot recommend any other product, although I constantly follow the market.

The product did not funtion anymore just 2 years after buying. Meaco has no repair parts anymore (!) and refuses to take responsibility. SVB refers to the 2 years guarantee and offers a 5% (!) discount on a new one. Do they really think I have confidence in buying a new one? DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

the integrated control board (PCB) fails out of warranty, and the product simply stops working after 10 to 12 months because one of the components of the electronic control board has failed. This on my BOTH dehumidifiers and it is still not possible to get a replacement of these cards, neither by paying for them, let alone for hidden defect. Simply shameful for the manufacturer and the distributor who continues to sell this product which is widely commented negatively on the forums.

With a life expectancy of less than 2 years I strongly recommend this product. I have never spent so much money on a dehumidifier and have never been so disappointed! I bought at SVB 2 Maeco dehumidifier (1 for the house and the other for the boat). The first died at 11 months, the second was 23 months old. After claim SVB informs you that the guarantee does not cover the cost of return if you have ordered from outside the EEC. An extremely dissatisfied customer!
