3rd year with this engine, it is reliable and you can count on it at any time. Always starts the first time once you know a little about your starting temperatures which require or not the use of the starter. The engine cover is a little wide compared to what's inside. Too bad it doesn't fit in the rear trunk of the sailboat like my Yamaha. The front part of the cover is not rigid enough to allow proper locking of the cover attachment. After 1 year (around ten uses) The attachment can be opened by simple pressure on the cover while this point The anchor is normally designed not to jump until the rear attachment has been unlocked. I still remain satisfied with this engine because you feel safe with it.
My grandfather had the first 5 hp Mercury 4T back then. I drove this for many hours as a child. After successfully passing my driving test, I drove two two-stroke engines. Now my girlfriend and I have an 8 meter spitzgatter and wanted a dinghy just for the harbor. Then we came across this outboarder. This is super light in my opinion, the consumption, since we often drive at idle speed, is, in my opinion, around 0.1-0.15 liters, so that you can drive forever on just one tank of fuel. The engine has excellent idle performance. (No stuttering or stalling), but only after approx. 2-3 hours of operation. We are very convinced of this engine!! If an outboard orderer, then Mercury!!
Drive for the dinghy (Rib). Light, but still sufficiently strong dinghy motor that is quite uncomplicated. The screw-in flushing connection to which a water hose can be connected is very practical. The scope of delivery with engine oil, two emergency stop clips, on-board tools and short and understandable operating instructions was also very positive. I use this engine for a 2.85 meter tender. I highly recommend this engine for its low fuel consumption but with the power that allows you to glide with 2 people on board. The only flaw is that the user manual is only in English and the warranty in German.
The product is great and reliable. With the right care in extinguishing (to consume the petrol remaining after the tap is closed) it starts easily and effortlessly
It arrived earlier than expected, it is a quality product, I recommend it. It started easily and pushes well, it would appear to have more horsepower than actually claimed. If I really have to find small moles, I would like to point out the lack of reverse gear which must be compensated by turning the engine suddenly 180 degrees and the lack of a socket for external tanks (the internal one lasts about 45 minutes and then it must be supplied with a tank and funnel). bit uncomfortable but for the type of engine there is.
