The 45-year-old pump could easily be exchanged for the new seawater pump. Only the pipe on the pressure side needs to be shortened and replaced with a hose.
My total costs including installation have been reduced by 65% compared to the original Volvo Penta part. Works perfectly on my VP MD7A. Here and there the mechanic I trust had to shorten things a little - but that is minimal adjustments. Including the pump, all the fun didn't cost me 350 €. For comparison, Volvo currently wants around € 900 plus around € 300-400 installation costs for the part. Top service and advice from SVB! with which you have won a new regular customer.
The cooling water pump fits exactly for eg book DV20M. Pump cover with sensible screws. No slotted screws that can be damaged after opening. Since a later impeller change is easy to perform. \ R \ nPrice and performance is right in any case.
First of all, the construction of the pump is more like the original part for over 600 euros than the usual OEM parts. Fast delivery as usual, adequately packaged and to full satisfaction. Unfortunately, I was blinded by the retaining clips. These do not fit for installation in the VP MD 5 because they are about one cm too short. You then either have to plan 1.5 hours to file your own brackets, or be prepared to give VP around 100 euros for their cheap cast brackets. I would probably have felt less frustrated without the enclosed brackets.
Top price of 20 percent at SVB compared to Italy but treatement and delivery of the order in record time. I do not regret my purchase the quality seems to rendezvous
Sea water leak after a year, unsuitable original spinnaker seal
The pump did its job until the spinnaker spring that blocks the seawater rusted and broke after a year, while the original pump lasted for years. The spring of this spinnaker joint was not made of stainless steel. The stainless steel spring seals, which resist seawater corrosion, are brown and stamped "ss" (stainless steel) in their reference number. What a shame that this pump is not originally fitted with a spinnaker seal spring unalterable by sea water. But you can't see that when purchasing, and that's probably not the only one , the stainless steel spring spinnaker seal being a little more expensive... If you buy this pump, which otherwise works perfectly, bring at least one spare stainless steel spring oil seal. Also, this pump is mounted with two ball bearings, which is not the case with the original Volvo MD11C pump, for your information. Now that I know, I would eventually repurchase this pump but I would change the vulnerable seal. The price will always be much lower than the original VOLVO part. There are excellent tutorials on YouTube which describe the procedure, and thanks to which I was able to repair this pump with a stainless steel spring oil seal this time.
Pump is awake very small, which is not recognizable in the photo. When used only Volvo MD is indicated, but si is sufficient in herere delivery performance certainly not s.den original Jonsson pump for the MD 3B zoom. Also, the impeller is much smaller here!
Pump with good appearance but that once mounted does not pump water. After disassembling the impeller it is observed deformed, I suppose that for a long period of storage. I sent an email to SVB asking for a solution a week ago and no answer. Bad product and bad service
