Display ok if there are no plants on the ground.

Currently (June 2023) the water depth at the port exit is decreasing again - you can use that for security. A bit inaccurate due to the aquatic plants and the water lilies with the large leaves that are currently still growing under water. I believe that these flat leaves irritate the ad a bit. I thought about it for a long time, since it's quite expensive... but a permanent installation of an echo sounder in my wooden boat would have been significantly more expensive ;)

Description is slightly misleading

According to the item description, I found out that it is also possible to measure distances to side obstacles. The device arrived and I immediately unpacked it upon delivery (only 1 day delivery time!). Tried it on the rain barrel. Measurement with 0.9 m water depth, test with a ruler at 0.9 m. So the result is very accurate.
No measurement is possible above water, the device must be held with the sensor in the water, so no measurement of side obstacles above the water surface (e.g. rock wall in the bay) is possible. But the description reads differently (my interpretation). A pity. That's why the item was returned and only 3 stars.
