I haven't installed this tree brake yet. If someone has the shrouds on the outside, like me, the line has to be pulled over the outer edge of the deck. This creates problems and damages in the gelcoat. In addition, the lines come queer to the side deck, i.e. where you don't want to be tripped over, as tripping hazards. Because the instructions are so bad and do not offer any pictures of different attachment options, I did not install the new Walder tree brake. For example, if I were to attach fastening points to the left and right on the saloon roof, outside, I still don't know whether the deck can withstand these tensile forces. There is no information anywhere! But if you have a deep saloon deck, shrouds that are more on the inner side or, better still, near the mast, then this will certainly work very well. Only external shroud fittings (sailing boats) are much more stable than those that are mounted closer to the mast.
