Great piece of kit. I had used a VSR before (not Blue Sea) but not with the disconnect on start. The disconnect function is a must. If you do not have the disconnect function there is a great danger of melting the system and causing a fire.
I connected the starter battery and the additional battery on my hobby truck like a mobile home. The device works perfectly as described and, by the way, everything you get from svb. Honesty is still very important here.
Super, no manual switching between the batteries is necessary and you do not run the risk of an empty starter battery. The price at the company SVB is unbeatable.
If the consumer battery is slightly discharged, the isolating relay starts to oscillate, so that only 20-30% of the charging capacity is actually used. However, when the consumer battery is more charged, the device behaves normally. Conclusion: Boats without a battery monitor can feel deceptively safe with it. \ R \ nThe bottom line is that the device is not recommended.
as long as there is enough voltage on the second battery, there is no problem. but if the (comfort) battery to be charged is completely discharged, the relay refuses to charge it!
