HEMPEL Antifouling

- Making effective antifouling products for over 100 years -

All set - with yacht protection from HEMPEL

HEMPEL was founded in 1915 by J. C. Hempel with the idea of producing ready-mixed ship paints. Since then HEMPEL has become one of the most important and independent manufacturers of coating materials and paints for recreational boats of all kinds.

Working together for the environment!

HEMPEL is also committed to the environment, safety and health. Its policies and measures are based on ensuring that the environment and water suffer no damage. A prime example of this is the self-polishing SILIC ONE Antifouling, which contains no copper or biocides. The silicone and hydrogel base imparts water-like properties to the surface, which makes it difficult for organisms to settle.

Antifouling for every underwater area

Antifouling coatings are generally used to protect the underwater surfaces of GRP boats, but antifouling paint for bronze and aluminium surfaces are also essential. The underwater layer not only protects against fouling, but also against corrosion. A special antifouling coating is required for propellers, Z-drives and stern drives as these areas are exposed to excessive movement and water turbulence.

It is recommended to remove all layers when applying a new coat. Clean the area concerned thoroughly, then sand with a grain size of 80 – 120. Finally, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. The coating can then be applied. HEMPEL recommends PROP NCT self-polishing antifouling for this area.

Quality for every skipper

You can be sure that with HEMPEL Antifouling, you will be well-prepared for the coming season. No matter the type of hull antifouling, the surface will be reliably protected. An added bonus is that HEMPEL antifouling paints leave you with a very smooth surface, which makes for higher speed and lower fuel consumption.
