Product details
206 Slow hardener is an epoxy hardener, which consists of a low viscosity mixture of polyamines. It can be mixed with the 105 Epoxy resin in the ratio of 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener, the cured mixture yields a rigid, high-strength, moisture-resistant solid body with excellent bonding and barrier coating properties, perfectly suited as a coating or adhesive and for wetting out fiberglass. For an optimal mixing ratio, it is recommended to use the West System 300 Mini pumps. One whole pump of the resin and hardener yields the correct mixing ratio.
The hardener is typically used for larger areas and bondings that take a longer time. Pot life at 22°C: 25 - 30 minutes. Hardens to a solid mass in about 10 hours at 22°C and reaches full hardening after about nine days.
Possible applications:
- Bonding
- Filleting
- Affixing hardware and flowing out to create a base for hardware
- Fastener bonding
- Laminating
- Filling
- Laminating with fiberglass
- Barrier layering
Substrates:
- Wood
- Fiberglass
- Composites
- Various metals
Adding fillers
WEST SYSTEM offers a range of fillers that are used to thicken the base mix of resin and hardener for specific applications. By adding filler, a "thicker" consistency can be achieved (suitable for filling cavities, fillets, making large, uneven bondings and for use as a filler).
