In addition, once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to less than 0.5 watts, which is about five to ten times more effective than the industry standard.
Adaptive 6-step loading algorithm: Night - Bulk - Absorption - Float - Storage
The Blue Power charger is characterized by its microprocessor-controlled "adaptive" battery management. "Adaptive" means that the charging process is automatically adapted to the type of battery use.
Storage Mode: Less maintenance and aging when battery is at rest
The storage mode is activated if no discharge has taken place within 24 hours. The trickle charge voltage is then lowered to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for a 12V battery) to minimize gas formation and to prevent corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the level of the gassing voltage. This results in a kind of equalizing charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation - the two primary causes of premature battery failure.
NIGHT and LOW settings
If the device is in NIGHT or LOW setting, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 25% of the rated output and the charger operates completely silent. The NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. The LOW mode can be stopped manually.
Protection against overheating
The output current is reduced when the temperature rises to 50°C, yet the Blue Power charger never stops working.
