Description
VICTRON - ARGO FET battery isolator / 200A / 3 battery banks

Product details

These charging current distributors use modern MOSFET technology instead of traditional diodes, which allows you to charge two or three batteries simultaneously and with virtually no voltage loss. The voltage drop is less than 0.02 V at low currents and only 0.1 V at higher currents. The ARGO FET charging distributors also have a control input for supplying voltage to alternators which require a battery voltage for starting at B+. Suitable for 12 and 24 volt systems.

On-board installations often comprise two or more battery groups, such as starter battery, supply battery and/or batteries for bow thrusters and navigation equipment. Here it is important that these individual battery groups do not interfere with each other and are insulated. This, of course, means that the charging system must also be isolated. However, this makes the charging process more complicated, as either the alternator, the generator or the charger has to recharge the batteries one by one. When choosing isolating diodes/relays, always keep in mind the maximum possible charging current. For example, if your alternator has 50-70 amps output, a 70 amp isolating diode will be enough.

Technical question

Flag of English Hi, I have a question related to changing from passive diode battery isolator to ARGOFET 200-3 in my 2007 BV 37CR. I have installed two different ARGOFET 200-3 this week, and i experience with both a 1,3 -1,8V leakage btw input and outputs. When turning off the main switch for the starter battery, it causes Alarm 1,4V for in the Panel 301. I have now changed back to the old passive diode, and everything is just fine. I know there are other BV owners with the same experience, but they just ignore this alarm. Hopefully some of you Bavaria guys have a good solution solving this issue ?

Hello Olaf, I don't know how the alarm function of your Bavaria switchboard works. But from a lossless electronic charging distributor I would not expect any leakage voltage between outputs and input. I have already installed similar charging distributors from Mastervolt and Quick in my vehicles and never noticed leakage voltages between outputs and input. SVB has them with 2 or 3 outputs, article numbers #48400#, #48401#, #76504# and #76505#. I experimented a bit with all of them and at the input (without a connected charging source) I could only measure the battery voltage when I applied a positive voltage to the "IG" contact, and that was perfectly ok. Victron material is inexpensive and so far I thought it is good and inexpensive. But it seems to be true that once you buy cheap, you buy twice.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. If I decide to replace my passive diode, I will choose Quick 220A-3.
