SVB recommends the following for this item
The radio features the latest AIS technology and has an output power of 5W. SOTDMA technology gives you greater range and transmits your position more frequently than classic AIS technologies.
Including control panel
The H1 handset, which is included in the delivery contents has a large 4" touchscreen display. It was specially developed to withstand the rigours of the harsh marine environment and can be used with gloves and when wet, and innovative buttons make operation child's play. With microphone and speaker for radio communication. The handset must be connected to a power source and communicates with the radio via WiFi.
The built-in antenna splitter allows VHF and AIS signals to be received with only a single antenna, so no further antennas must be installed or compromises made in terms of signal strength. A built-in amplifier additionally improves reception and range.
10 Hz GPS antenna
The Cortex V1 has a high-precision 10 Hz GPS antenna that reliably and accurately determines your current position. If the radio is connected to an NMEA2000 network, the signal is also relayed to all other devices.
Thanks to WiFi, you can receive notifications on your smartphone, tablet or smartwatch anywhere on board. Up to ten WiFi devices can be connected to receive and manage alarms or display AIS information and instrument data. Furthermore, the Cortex Onboard App notifies you when a software update is available. The update can be done manually or automatically.
The device continuously calculates collision risk and warns with alerts. View crossing situations and take critical action. High-risk vessels are highlighted on the display and the alert sounds automatically.
Man Overboard (MOB)
When an AIS MOB situation is detected, the system immediately sounds the alarm. You can track where the signal was first activated and how the location changes. In addition, your own AIS MOB devices can be configured with a user name for easy identification. Pressing the MOB button displays a tracker on all connected devices.
By combining position and heading, Cortex V1 checks that the boat is still exactly where it was anchored. If your anchor drags and your boat moves outside your anchor swing radius an alarm will also sound on all connected devices.
