Product details

This electro-mechanical trim system will reduce the fuel consumption and increase the passenger comfort. The kit consists of two electric actuators and a control panel with joystick. It is specifically designed for demanding conditions at sea. The patented rear holder of the adjusting cylinders encapsulates the cable, so that damage to the cable is prevented. Only a small hole per cylinder is needed at the rear. The easy to install stainless steel trim tabs are available separately in different sizes. The system requires no maintenance since the actuating cylinders are sealed completely.
The joystick allows a trim in the longitudinal and transverse axis and makes a trim tab indicator superfluously. In addition, the control electronics offers an AUTO LINE-UP function, which allows an automatic valve adjustment.

Note: Suitable Trim Tabs are sold separately.
As an accessory, we offer a extension wiring harness kit in two versions: with 5 m power supply cable and 2x 6 m or 2x 9 m cable for the cylinder. A bracket (with Bennet mounting holes) and a second control panel with joystick are also sold separately.
  • Voltage: 12 V
  • Maximum stroke: 57 mm
  • Adjusting cylinder: 301 mm length (when fully retracted)
  • Waterproof to IP68
Less fuel, more comfort - but how does the trimming work?
By pressing the button, the trim tabs move into the desired positions via adjustment cylinders. The water resistance on the tabs that are pointed downward, produce an upward pressure so that while under way the bow lowers and the stern rises. The principle is easy, the result is fascinating! Without using the throttle, the speed is increasing and the boat glides independently from weight and speed in the optimal position.

Tab steering
The heart of the system is the tab steering. Two driving types are available: hydraulic and electric. The advantages and disadvantages of these different drives lie in the the installation, in the maintenance effort and in the precision of the steering itself, e.g. a hydraulic systems requires a higher installation effort. This particular system is an electronic system.

Trim tabs
A lot of factors play a role in the selection of the size of the trim tabs. To facilitate the decision for you, recommendations for the suitable size of the boat are declared on each size of trim tabs. Should there be any questions concerning the size of trim tabs, feel free to call us anytime. We would love to help you!

Mounting, a note:
You receive the operational device with a 40 cm long cabling tree. The connection cable of both engines are 1,9 m long. The connection wires for the circuit voltage and the engines (actuators) are already equipped with plugs (pins) for German* plugs. For the easy and correct connection of operational device and engines we recommend our optional cabling set with 6 o 9 m length. These are already equipped with German plug connections.
* The cables include the plug bodies for the operational device and the engines.
CAUTION: The German plug connections are not available as single pieces.

Hint: The protection of the installation should be done with hydraulic-magnetic 15 amp safety plugs. We recommend for example our products 10606 or 32020. They can also be integrated into our SEATEC switch panel on request.

Note on cable cross-sections in the operating instructions:
AWG14 corresponds to approx. 2.5 mm².
AWG16 corresponds to approx. 1.5 mm².
AWG18 corresponds to approx. 1.0 mm².

Produkt mit konstruktiven Mängeln
I do not use the actuator kit with the additionally offered trim flaps, but with self-made wakeboard trim flaps. But that does not make much difference in the application. The following criticism also does not refer to SVB. Delivery and condition were as usual perfect and great. 1) Why is the top bracket (with cable entry) not also designed with a security pin? Would be constructive with slight change in the cable management quite possible. Instead, a lummelige groove based construction is used in deviation from the measures provided (for me due to limitation at the site) no longer holds reliable and slip out during operation. Ouch. I have now helped myself with self-rotated socket as a backup. But you could also provide factory and would increase confidence. 2) The actuators have no end stop switch-off. Mechanical stress leaves greetings, since end position can be experienced only by ear ... How long that endure will show the future. In any case, I'll still look for an indicator for the trim flaps position or try what's to gain from the extra cables for the auto line-up feature. 3) The perfect filler can be found in the cabling of the actuators with the control unit. The cables on the control unit for the starboard actuator are black-red-white-red and designed for the port actuator black-green-white-green. How to get on something in the nautical area is beyond me. 4) As a last suggestion I would then still wish that the pre-assembled pins and sleeves for the DEUTSCH plug between the control unit and actuators are mounted so that a confusion of port and starboard actuators is not possible. Simply place an actuator pin and swap sleeves.
