With the SPOT Gen3 you can inform relatives that you are well and in an emergency transmit your GPS positions to the emergency services at the touch of a button. The SPOT Gen3 works 100% with satellite technologies and is therefore independent of radio and mobile phone networks, offering you a life-saving communication option in a compact design.

Rescue service
- In a life-threatening situation, the SOS button is pressed on your SPOT device.
- The SPOT device determines the position via the GPS satellites.
- From now on SPOT sends an SOS message with the current GPS position every 5 minutes.
- SOS message with the GPS coordinates is sent to the GEOS rescue center.
- This is available 24 hours, 7 days a week
- The GEOS rescue center advises the emergency contacts
- It sends the rescue teams nearby to the GPS location
- GEOS relays the stored information to the rescue services

by SPOT Messenger for a period of 20 minutes depending on network availability. In addition, under everyday conditions, it is normal for individual messages to be blocked by the surroundings, such as hills or buildings. For this reason, SPOT sends multiple messages in each mode, ensuring excellent overall reliability.
Important instructions
· SPOT must have unobstructed access to the sky to receive a GPS signal and get the most accurate location information
· SPOT does not work reliably in buildings, caves or very dense forests
· Hold the SPOT with the SPOT logo pointing up, towards the sky. This improves performance as the antenna is directly under the logo
· Keep at least 30 cm away from other GPS devices to prevent the SPOT from receiving signals from these devices
· A service subscription is required
