Product details

Side Power's externally mountable SX-series stern thrusters are specially designed for boats with two Z-drives. The stern thrusters are factory pre-assembled in a waterproof housing and have a sealed cable entry. Only a small mounting hole is required to run battery and control cables through the transom. The cable entry is sealed which protects against sparks, suitable for installation on petrol powered boats.
The SX stern thrusters can also be optionally equipped with a proportional control.

Assembly with difficulty
The initial situation was a 12m boat with a bathing platform, the inside of the bathing platform was very damp and wet due to condensation.
I bought this stern thruster because you can mount it directly in the water and it doesn't make sense for me to mount a normal stern thruster due to the high humidity in the bathing platform. The main problem is that the mounting plate and the housing of the motor are not parallel to each other. Despite the 10mm intermediate plate, I had the problem that the upper end of the motor housing touched the outer wall of the boat.
If I had known this beforehand then the 50mm spacer plate would have been much better. Then I would have had to use the other stern thruster with a maximum hull thickness of 150mm. I hope the info was helpful. Greetings to all water sports enthusiasts. Hannes U
