Raymarine AIS700 SOTDMA AIS transponder

Raymarine's new AIS transponder AIS700 is equipped with the latest SOTDMA AIS technology, which achieves greater transmission and reception of AIS data and 5 watts of power compared to traditional Class-B AIS devices at higher intervals. In addition, the SOTDMA AIS transponders can no longer be suppressed by Class A devices. The AIS700 has an internal splitter so that an existing FM antenna can be used.
  • Internal antenna splitter
  • AIS SOTDMA technology with 5W of transmitting power.
  • Integrated 72-channel GPS receiver, incl. external GPS antenna (cable length 10 m)
  • NMEA2000, NMEA0183 and USB interface

Before the AIS700 goes into transmit mode, it is necessary that the AIS700 is completely programmed - name, callsign, MMSI, ship type. Furthermore it is important that the included GPS antenna is connected and delivers position data (this can be checked with the programming software proAIS). Also the antenna system has to be checked - if the AIS700 outputs a VSWR error, an error in the antenna system is possible.

Hi Emanuel, onlineplatforms are not reliable indicators for a working device. If you also have connect it with 12V DC Powersupply and not only connect by USB, then please check in config and on the MFD, if you maybe had set the device into "silent" mode". Further on, you better can check functionality with other skippers or ask ferry, coast guard or else....on onlineplatforms it could be, that there you appear with a huge delay......
