Installation instructions
  • QUICK instructs to install a 4A fast-blow fuse.
  • It is possible to control one windlass with several chain counter instruments. To do this, a simple CAN-BUS network must be set up, via which the control units are connected to each other. For the network, pre-assembled data cables, connectors and terminators are used, which are all fitted with standardised M12 plugs/couplings.
M12 connectors are identical to NMEA2000 Micro-C or PHILIPPI PBus components. The material for setting up the network and connecting the devices can be found in our extensive range of NMEA2000 accessories and equipment.
To network 2 control units, you will need the following NMEA2000 components: 1x dual distributor (or 2x Ts), 2x or 3x network cable (you only need the third cable if you are working with Ts), 1x male terminating resistor, 1x female terminating resistor.

Extremely helpful gadget for providing chain length when anchoring and chain slacking
We have three operating locations for the winch when anchoring. For lowering, we use the quick display during anchoring maneuvers from the cockpit - this is extremely convenient and the desired chain length can be determined in advance based on the water depth. Lower the anchor, directly from the rudder and read the chain depth. e.g. 2x water depth and 1x boat length. We don't use value settings as a given value... down with it and propeller backwards. Our anchoring maneuver is now 99% complete with just this measure. When catching up, we usually start from the cockpit and often catch up the last free meters directly using the sight control on the windlass. Very useful tool.... Gives you the right feeling of not using too much or little chain, especially between other boats. What I would like... To slow down the motor running of the anchor winch so much when catching up that you don't always have to start and stop the winch... I would like it to run continuously... Up and Down - Perhaps. an idea for later...

Great product
Installed the counter, which is quite simple. The device is easy to configure and operate. The setting for the chain length for one revolution of the chain sprocket must be readjusted for test purposes. I will install a second magnet to improve the reading accuracy.

Flag of English I don't have much space to bring more cables through the binnacle pipes at the helm. But I already have there the SeatalkNG backbone and power. I could bring the backbone closer to the winch controller. Is it possible to set this up only using the SeatalkNG / NMEA2000 connection? I'm interested also in button controller for the winch at the helm if it is possible, not only the chain counter. Thank you
