Everything great!
I exchanged the element for the built-in one. The boiler was delivered installed in a new yacht in October 2016. In October 2019 I exchanged the element for the first time, now again. The reason for the replacement was a short-circuit to earth caused by eaten-out heating rods. This results in a replacement interval of three years. Actually not a problem, because because of the sacrificial anode, which after three years only exists in fractions, an exchange would have to take place anyway. Tip Always have a spare on board!

Normally yes, but compare the power data. You can get 500 W (item 40132), 800 W (17827) and this one, 1200 W (40131). the suitable thermostat is 35978. The heating elements are supplied with a gasket. A single gasket is 40130.

My heating element stopped working after 20 months which was a surprise until I spoke with a few other buddies whose water heaters packed up between 12 months and thirty months. In my case the anode was used up after 15 months and the case of the element had eroded. So I am going to inspect my heating element at 12 months and replace the anode. I have bought a 55mm box spanner to remove the element but, the tips of a pipe wrench at 90 degrees would do. My spares are an anode, element and thermostat all bought from SVB.

Flag of English The element comes with two gaskets nowadays. The heating element gasket and an additional o-ring. Do I install both or only one of the two? What is the o-ring for? Thank you.

Flag of English We are having to change our heating element a lot - 4 times since September, in a winter berth, in a hard water marina in Italy. Never had to do it before. We have now got another and also changed the thermostat. Better to reduce from 1200w to 800w and any other suggestions please, as it is constantly blowing the electrics? Last one lasted 2 weeks. It is a Quick boiler.
