Good to know - blister sailing made simple
Blister and
gennaker sails are the turbochargers for your yacht. When boats with genoa and fock do their miles unwillingly,
blisters take you and your boat forward properly. Unfortunately, the esteem for the "big rag" is still widespread. However, in combination with a
sock these sails have become
very comfortable to use. The biggest problem with these
very light sails is the partially unpredictable behavior when setting and mountain, and in the maneuvers to change course. By using a sock, these operations are very manageable. Even the setting of the
blister or
gennaker, is a relaxed maneuver as the sail is in the wind immediately. The sail is hoisted by means of the tube in the mast, and then the sail is set. The tube remains in compressed state above the head sail.
Furthermore, it is possible to retrieve the sail at any time without having to tame an endless amount of canvas on deck or in the cockpit. With a sock the wind is taken out of the sails. The blister or gennaker can be stowed as a compact tube system, without having to tame the hustle and bustle it in a sail bag. You will rapidly realize what has been missing on your sailing trips! Through various unit sizes, we at SVB are able to supply high quality blisters to comparable cheap prices. We are sur that you will find the right size for your sailing yacht, too.
