Product details

The BM-2 is designed to monitor performance of 12 volt battery systems with capacities of up to 600 Amp hours. It is supplied complete with a precision 200 Amp shunt and a prefabricated cable assembly to enable simple installation. The unit continuously monitors voltage, current (charge or discharge), the battery‘s state of charge and the time to charge or discharge. This information leads to more efficient use of the battery, which can enhance the battery life and reduce the risk of failure.

Quick delivery to my desk.Straight forward installation. Now the instruments tells exactly what is going on with my batteries. I have two set of batteries and one at the time is used for all use including starter. That schema should be added in the instructions.

Finally no longer dependent on the voltmeter to assess the condition of the on-board electronics. You can see the consumption of each switched-on power consumer with an accuracy of 0.1 A and can thus control your consumption and charging behavior (by the machine) on the basis of safety, especially with regard to the consumption of the cooling compressor, if you have no access to shore power. To connect the starter battery, you have to look at the enclosed English instructions. Before that I was very unsure about the connection of a shunt, i.e. I imagined it to be complicated. But he is not. Under certain circumstances, however, you may need a piece of battery earth cable (at least that's how it was on my boat) so that the connection of the service and starter battery works as shown in the circuit diagram. But you can get that in auto parts stores. You can look at the operating instructions at the SVB beforehand to check that you understand the circuit diagram sufficiently.
