Product details

The marine GPS receiver features a high-sensitivity MTK chipset with 165 dBm. Even without a direct line of sight to GPS satellites, this chipset can receive GPS signals. This device features a 66 channel parallel receiver and thus allows excellent reception. NMEA 0183 capable.
The compact housing is waterproof to IPX7 and equipped with a 1"-14 UNF thread for easy installation. The connection cable has a length of 8 m and i equipped with an USB plug or as serial version with open line ends.

Yes, it does, if somebody still wonders. Check that kernel module pl2303 is loaded. You can then e.g. in OpenCPN connect directly to /dev/ttyUSB0 or use gpsd.
