Product details
A real 'do-it-all'! Lowrance 's Link-9 VHF radio has an integrated GPS antenna, a built-in AIS receiver and boasts versatile connectivity. A large display with an intuitive user interface ensures clear and simple operation. The display has been visually adapted to the design of Lowrance multifunctional displays.
Integrated GPS antenna
With its integrated GPS antenna, the Link-9 radio system can be used as a stand-alone device to make an emergency call and provide the exact coordinates. No additional external antenna is required. If you require external GPS reception, an SMA plug is available on the back.
Integrated AIS receiver
A dual-channel AIS receiver monitors the position of nearby AIS ships and helps you avoid collisions in crowded ports and waterways. You can retrieve AIS signals either directly on the radio or on a compatible multifunction display.
Remote-mountable handheld microphone
A further novelty is the remote mountable hand-held microphone. This hand-held microphone can be mounted on the front or back of the radio at any time. This makes the radio system flexible and suitable for any location.
Track buddy
Track Buddy is a feature that automatically retrieves the location of any other VHF radio. Simply enter a desired MMSI number into your contact list and start tracking! This function allows you to track up to five friends at different intervals.

Dear Kerim,
the GPS antenna is integrated in the VHF radio. The VHF antenna and cable is not in the delivery.

You will need two VHF antennas, or you will need to use an antenna-splitter like our NSPL500

Hallo ! Kann man ein Schiff, in der AIS Anzeige auswählen und an dieses einen direkten DSC Call absetzen ?
Answer:
Hallo Robert, dieses ist nur möglich, wenn ein MFD, also Kartenplotter von Lowrance, über NMEA2000 angeschlossen ist. Dann kann man das AIS Ziel direkt vom Bildschirm des MFD auswählen und über einen Klick anrufen via Funkgerät.

Hello! Can anyone tell mit you directly can call a vessel from the AIS Screen and does the AIS display work if the AIS receiving function is turned of. AIS Data is available on NMEA 2000.
Answers:
As explained above. And when "AIS" is turned off at VHF, the PPI monitor for AIS targets won't work also.
Hallo Klaus ! Dann ist die AIS Anzeige nicht sehr sinnvoll, wenn man da keinen DSC Call initiieren kann. Kann ich mir eigentlich nicht vorstellen. Muss man dann die angezeigte MMSI des Zielschiffes neu eintippen ?
