Product details

INTERNATIONAL VC 17m is a world-famous thin-film antifouling, much thinner than usual antifouling products. It produces an exceptionally smooth surface that makes your boat 10% faster than with conventional antifoul. VC 17m from International is suitable for all boat building substrates except for aluminium. Coverage: about 10 m²/litre. 2 included in the delivery contents.

Processing instructions

Technical data
  • Processing temperature: +5° C to +35° C
  • Drying time at 15 °C: 20 minutes
  • Overcoating time at 15 °C: 20 minutes

For coated surfaces
  • Old VC 17m: Wash with fresh water. The surface must be clean and free of dust.
  • Other antifoulings: Old antifouling residues must be removed. Use Interstrip AF for this.

GRP/Blank gelcoat: Ensure that the substrate is dry, clean and free of grease. Use VC General Thinner for degreasing. Lightly roughen the surface to be coated with 240 grit sandpaper. Rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Then prime the surface with VC TAR2 and apply two coats of VC 17m. If possible, apply another coat of VC 17m every six months.

Steel/lead: Ensure that the substrate is dry, clean and free of grease. Use VC General Thinner for degreasing. Prime the surface to be coated with VC TAR2 to protect the hull from corrosion. Then apply two coats of VC 17m. If possible, apply another coat of VC 17m every six months.

Wood:Special recommendations are available directly from International.

Not suitable for use on aluminium or galvanised surfaces. Do not apply with a brush.

Use biocides safely. Always read the label and the product information before using.

Sold only to retail customers in standard commercial quantities.
