NOTIFICATION:
ONE UP replaces PRE KOTE and YACHT PRIMER whilst still delivering the same levels of adhesion and protection.
ONE UP is a one-component primer and undercoat - two products in one. Easy to apply by brush and roller, ONE UP provides and extra smooth finish. As a primer, it delivers impressive adhesion and protection. Can be painted over with any 1-component paint. Suitable for substrates made of wood, steel, aluminium, zinc and GRP. Yield: 10 m²/litre. Suitable thinner: No. 1. For easier application, can be thinned up to 10 % as desired.
Processing instructions
In good condition: Wash down with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 220280 grade (grit) paper.
In poor condition: Remove all previous coatings.
Bare wood: Sand smooth with 80180 grade paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. Allow to dry completely before applying further products.
Steel: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Gritblast to Sa 2½ near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 2436 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright well roughened metal surface 5075microns anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry.
Aluminium: : Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 24120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly.
Zink: : Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 60120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly.
GRP: : Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 180220 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Clean thoroughly.
Application:
Steel and aluminium: Apply 3 coats of the primer (unthinned).
GRP: Apply 2 coats (unthinned(.
Wood: Apply 4 coats (unthinned).
Drying time at 15° C: 3 hrs
Overcoating time at 15° C: at least 18 hours
Processing temperature: +5 °C to max. 35° C
