Product description

These solar panels are ideal for all applications related to charging batteries. The highest charge current can be reached although the unit is very small! This powerful mono-crystalline SunPower solar cell combines high voltage charging at high temperatures with excellent charging performance even with low solar radiance. Thus, the use of different light spectra and the lowest temperature coefficient provide optimum battery charge – in all weather, all year long! The voltage-free cell with space technology ensures high reliability. Available in different versions.

Note: For simple parallel connection of two solar panels, a special adapter (item 22302) is used. This has to be ordered separately.

I have tried to locate information regarding what is best and can only find information that things should be paired. Is it possible to hook up 2 x 140w or 3 x 100w of these panels to 3 x 100ah batteries? Would I then required two charge controllers? Would it be better to isolate the panels 2 x 100w panels - 2 batteries and 1 x 100w panel to 1 battery. And would this also require two charge controllers? Many thanks.

Hi James, Yes, you can hook up around 300W of solar to 300Ah (3x100 or 2x150Ah) batteries, through a solar regulator. In this setup, it may be best to parallel the panels and use a PWM regulator, at least then if 1 panel is partly shaded, it doesn't impact the performance of the other panels. Alternatively (and not recommending this unless you have a totally out of the shade spot for ALL the panels, like on a Cat), you could connect them in series and use a MPPT regulator which is more efficient at charging than the PWM. However, if one panel is partly shaded, it will significantly bring down the performance of all the panels connected in series. Hope this helps, Joao

Since we do not know the exact alloys of the various metals, we recommend the use of plastic washers and bushings for galvanic isolation The SPR110 modules are equipped with back contact cells. For modules with these cells and in the case of high system voltages, there is a risk of potential induced degradation (PID). Then the frame of these modules should be grounded to PLUS via a fuse. The regulator must also be suitable for this grounding type. You must also avoid possible corrosion in the area of the frame's grounding connection. There we recommend the use of Tefgel, article number 61152. For parallel connection of both modules you can use art. 22302. Under optimal conditions, both modules can deliver in sum approx. 12 amps. The cable from Art. 22302 to the solar regulator should therefore have a sufficient large cable cross-section. With each module you receive a 5 m long 2x 2.5 mm² cable. Don't use these cables because the cable cross-section of them is no longer sufficient for 2x 110 Wp parallel connection. Use 6 mm² cable.

I would like to thank everywhere for their help. And especially SVB who were very helpful. Panels work great and because of their efficiency my batteries are fully charge by noon and the size/weight is minimal. Currently using 2 x 110w and will be adding another 110w in the future so I can run more gear.

I will be installing a 2 Solarmodul SPR-110 panels in the near future. What solutions exist for preventing or minimizing corrosion between these aluminum panels and a stainless steel mounting frame on a sailboat in a salt water environment? The manual suggests using stainless steel washers between the panel and frame. Does this work if the structure is simply grounded OR grounded to an anode? Others suggest using plastic washers and then separately grounding through a copper wire. Any suggestions from past experience on what works best? Many thanks.

Wie reagieret das Modul auf teilweise Verschattung z.B. durch Windgenerator oder Radarantenne die ebenfalls auf dem Heckgeräteträger montiert sind? Ist dann nur die Stromerzeugung auf den entsprechenden Zellen geringer oder ziehen diese dann die anderen Zellen mit runter. Bypass-Dioden würden das verhindern aber im Datenblatt konnte ich keinen Hinweis dazu finden.

Hallo Michael, ich bin total zufrieden mit dem Modul. Ich kann kein Unterschied feststellen ob Schatten oder Sonne, es wird immer voll geladen. Nur mal so , ich fahre jedes WE raus und bin 3 Wochen hinter ein ander im Urlaub auf See gewesen, ich brauchte in dieser Saison nicht ein mal an Landstrom zum laden. Ich hoffe meine Antwort war hilfreich für dich.

Herstellerseits wurden zwischenzeitlich die Anschluss-Steckverbindungen der Module geändert. Bei der alten Ausführung (MC3) waren die Steckverbindungen vollkommen rund, sie haben außen keinerlei Verriegelung und lassen sich nur schwer auseinander ziehen. Die aktuellen Steckverbindungen (MC4) haben ein teils eckiges Gehäuse und lassen sich ohne Entriegelung der seitlichen Snap-Verriegelungen nicht auseinanderziehen. Schauen Sie sich die Steckverbindungen des alten Moduls an: In unserem Sortiment finden Sie passende Y-Verbinder, Adapterkabel oder auch ein MC4 Steckerset, mit dem Sie sich bedarfsgerecht die Anschlusskabel selbst herstellen können. Stichwort Kabel: bei 2x 100 Watt können gut 12 A unterwegs sein. Die 5 m Anschlussleitung ist dann mit ihren 2x2,5 mm² zu knapp bemessen. Verwenden bei einer Distanz von 5 Metern zwischen den Modulen und dem regler Sie 6 mm² Leitungsquerschnitte. Falls Sie die Leitungen selbst mit den Steckern konfektionieren wollen, sollten Sie verzinnte Ware nehmen. Die Stecker haben Crimp-Kontakte. Wenn Sie keine passende Quetschzange zur Hand haben, können Sie auch löten.
