Product details

MILLE NCT combines HEMPEL's patented nanocapsule technology with a self-polishing effect to achieve the perfect balance between polishing rate and release of antifouling agents. The effect is controlled and continuous. Mille NCT antifouling is extremely powerful and protective. It is perfectly suited for sailboats and cruisers made of fibreglass, wood and steel and can be used in all waters. Compatible with virtually all known antifoul systems. Pack sizes: 750 ml and 2.5 litres. Yield: approx. 13.3 m²/litre. Thinner 808.

Processing instructions

Technical data
  • Processing temperature: +10° C to +30° C
  • Drying time at 20 °C: 4 hours
  • Overcoating time at 20 °C: min. 5 hours

Application

For uncoated surfaces: Remove salts, detergents, dirt and marine growth using a high-pressure cleaner. Prime the prepared surface with LIGHT PRIMER and then, while the primer is still tacky, coat with UNDERWATER PRIMER to act as an adhesion facilitator.

For coated surfaces: Remove fouling and impurities using a high-pressure cleaner. In case of unknown antifouling, wet sand the substrate and remove dust. If the previous antifouling layer is in poor condition, seal the area to be treated with UNDERWATER PRIMER. If the condition of the previous coating is bad all round, it is recommended to remove it and then start a new layering process (see above).

Application: Every 12 months, apply two coats to the surface to be treated. At the waterline and on heavily used areas of the underwater hull, apply a further coat.

Note
Handle with care. Before and during application, all safety instructions on the packaging and containers, the safety data sheets prepared by HEMPEL and local or national safety regulations must be followed.

These antifoulings / paints may not be used in Holland.

Use biocidal products with care. Always read the label and product information prior to use.

Suitable for 15 wooden jolly
Does what it's supposed to do, but the Jolly is also moved seriously (i.e. foot rail in the water) once or twice a week. This probably also helps against algae in the Zwischenahner Meer

Easy to work with, productive and the result is very good
We have tried other self-polishing antifoulings. This product from Hempel is not the cheapest product, but it is worth the price. The result after the season is very good (Elbe and Baltic Sea sailing areas). It can be applied up to 9 months before returning to service. In our experience, the workability and yield are above average.
