Product details

Ecopower Cruise self-polishing antifouling is a biocide-free varnish for ship floors and protects your epoxy coating against fouling. Suitable for boats made of glass fibre, wood, plywood and steel. Recommended for areas with demanding environmental requirements.

Processing instructions

Technical data
  • Theoretical yield: 14.3 m²/l.
  • Processing temperature: +10° C to +30° C
  • Drying time at 20 °C: 4 hours
  • Overcoating time at 20 °C: min. 5 hours

Application

For uncoated surfaces: Remove salts, detergents, dirt and marine growth using a high-pressure cleaner. Prime the prepared surface with LIGHT PRIMER and then, while the primer is still tacky, coat with UNDERWATER PRIMER to act as an adhesion facilitator.

For coated surfaces: Remove fouling and impurities using a high-pressure cleaner. In case of unknown antifouling, wet sand the substrate and remove dust. If the previous antifouling layer is in poor condition, seal the area to be treated with UNDERWATER PRIMER. If the condition of the previous coating is bad all round, it is recommended to remove it and then start a new layering process (see above).

Use on GRP, wood and steel/lead: Every 12 months, apply two coats to the surface to be treated. At the waterline and on heavily used areas of the underwater hull, apply a further coat.

Do not apply to aluminium or other light alloys.

I painted my sailboat with Ecopower Cruise True Blue this year.
I applied the paint on 6/16/22, 2 coats over an existing Seajet antifouling.
On 6/26/22 the boat got into the water.
Berth is on the North Sea in Hooksiel in salt water.
Out of the water again on 10/24/22.
4 months later and about 600 SM further, a fur of an unprecedented extent has formed.

We applied the antifouling at the end of May and have been on the ship since the beginning of June. Unfortunately, we already have considerable growth on the ship, although we are on the road almost every day. Too bad, I would love to use antifouling that is biocide free (or at least less toxic) but we have not had good experiences with this product so far.
