Product details

HARKEN's Element series has been specially developed for cruising yachts. This series features a compact design in the typical HARKEN quality, where only the essentials are the focus. The result is a product, where longevity and stability play a central role.
The side plates of these plain bearing blocks are made of forged, surface-hardened aluminium and the sheaves are made of reinforced, glass-fibre nylon. The blocks are characterised by their high stability, especially when subjected to static loads. The freely rotatable pin can be fixed in two positions.

It is normally expected that the strength advertised for a product is that of its weakest element. Here, it's apparently the reverse. One can easily imagine the strategy of the manufacturer. For use in a six-leg hoist, the total resistance is that of the shackle. Each pulley then only supports one third of the traction. As for the ringot, it only needs a resistance of 16 of the total. What if you have another use for this product? Too bad for you. But even used in a hoist, a diameter of 45 for rope of 12? Seriously? Remember that the diameter of the pulleys should be about six times the size of the rope. The only characteristic here that corresponds to a 12 mm string is the price!
