A woman alone at sea

At just 28, she set off alone, leaving her old life behind. Single-handedly sailing a 42 foot sailboat is a massive challenge. She sold all her belongings and bought a 1991 Janneau Sun Odyssey 42 - a ship designed for 6 people - and christened her "Tangaroa".

Heading for new shores

After Jonna joined a crew on the San Blas Islands in Panama, she completely fell in love with her lifestyle at sea. Since her love for the sea began there, it is Jonnas first travel goal on her journey.
Her stops along the way:

  • Mediterranean
  • Canary Islands
  • Cape Verde
  • Atlantic
  • West African Coast
  • Caribbean
  • San Blas Islands
  • Panama Canal
  • Galapagos Islands
  • Pacific
  • Hawaii
  • Polynesia
  • Melanesia
  • Micronesia
  • Southeast Asia
  • Indian Ocean
  • Africa

Longing for the sea

Jonna doesn't always sail alone. She makes many acquaintances on her journey, resulting in a temporary crew - they may all be different, but they share the same passion for the sea.
