Product details

The Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot system has been specifically designed for powerboats and sailboats less than 9 metres in length, offering responsive and reliable performance.
Supplied with 4" GHC20 control unit, electronic control unit (ECU), control circuit unit (CCU), buzzer/alarm, hydraulic pump (1 litre) and innovative Shadow Drive technology.

Responsive, flexible and reliable
The solid-state 9-axis AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) responds reliably to sea conditions to maintain course. In addition, the autopilot system offers particularly helpful features, including heading hold, wind hold, tack/jibe, step turns and more. It also greatly minimises heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption, giving you enough time to operate sails, lines, winches or radios. The system mounts nearly anywhere, in any orientation.

Chartplotter compatibility
Combined with a compatible chartplotter, the Reactor 40 can be controlled and steered anywhere on the boat. In addition to holding its course in virtually all weather and wind conditions, the system can smoothly perform a variety of preprogrammed trolling and search procedures. Plus, with a compatible Garmin networked chartplotter and optional BlueChart g3 Vision charts (sold separately), you gain additional functions, such as Auto Guidance with automatic route suggestions.

Stay in control with Shadow Drive technology
Shadow Drive gives you the option to take the wheel at any time with Autopilot activated. The autopilot is automatically disengaged if the helm is turned and re-engages when you hold a steady course.

Further features at a glance
  • Minimal commissioning and calibration
  • Control the autopilot with an optional quatix smartwatch
  • NMEA2000 connectivity
  • Delivery includes 4" control unit GHC20, Reactor 40 (CCU), electronic control unit (ECU), buzzer/alarm, hydraulic pump (1 litre) and Shadow Drive.

Flag of English Hello, I have 19” (5.8m) long open boat with middle console. Outboard engine Suzuki 90hp and hydraulic system uniflex. How to know if this 1l Pump would be enough? Is it needed to have plotter in order this Autopilot to work or I can use it as is and buy plotter later on? If I buy also GPSMAP 923xsv or 1022xsv do I still need the GHC20/50 display.

Hello, the compatibility to your hydraulic control depends on the volume of the cylinder. The autopilot is suitable for hydraulic cylinders with a volume up to 165 cc. The autopilot is installed self-sufficient and works without chart plotter. It is possible to operate the autopilot from a Garmin chart plotter, but the absence of the autopilot control GHC20 makes the autarkic pilot a dependent one. It also takes away the option of operating the autopilot from 2 different locations. In addition, the price of the autopilot package with the GHC20 is very reasonable, so you should not do without it.
