SVB recommends the following for this item

Product details

The P79 plastic in-hull transducer is suitable for boats with a deadrise angle of up to 22°. It can be easily integrated into an existing network thanks to NMEA2000 connectivity, making it suitable for a wide range of multifunction displays.
The transducer comes with a plastic mounting base which is securedinside the hull and filled with a liquid. The transducer is then inserted into the base, so that the beam shoots straight down for maximum echo returns. Maximum depth: < 152 m.

NOTE!
Hull thickness must not exceed 1.59 cm.

Hi Willem, if you want to connect to the 9pin sonar socket of the Vulcan 7R the sensor with our reference number 81524 is the right one. Please note that some sonar features inside the Vulcan device like downscan and sidescan are not working with in hull sensors. NMEA2000 (N2K) sensors (as well as the one the question was asked about) are compatible to the Vulcan 7R but you need a N2K network too because all communication via N2K is done via the network, Sensors and displays are never connected directly. .
