Nowadays, "smart" alternators / generators are installed in vehicles, which are switched by the control unit to save fuel and thus reduce emissions. Smart generators / alternators provide energy when required and turn off when there is no energy demand. To ensure that the on-board battery is charged as quickly as possible, the PerfectPower series charge converter delivers a stable current even when there is no energy demand. The charging converters of the PerfectPower series are equally suitable for wet, gel and AGM batteries. They ensure continuous, fully automatic charging of the consumer battery while in operation to increase battery life. At the same time, the consumer battery is charged via the starter battery without risking start-up problems. In addition to charging batteries, the charging converters supply the electrical system with a stable voltage so that even sensitive consumers, such as LEDs, smartphones, televisions, etc., can be easily connected to the vehicle electrical system.

Modern charging technology is usually designed in such a manner that batteries are charged optimally at room temperature (20 - 25°C). At higher temperatures, the batteries might begin gassing despite correctly adjusted charging characteristics; at colder temperatures, the batteries are not optimally charged. For temperature-optimized charging, we recommend using the optionally available TS-1 temperature sensor.
