No boat should be without a fixed-mount VHF radio at sea. If you're looking for a DSC and ATIS compliant radio with simple menu navigation at an unbeatable price/performance ratio, then the Cobra Marine MR F57B E radio is the right choice.
Take advantage of the integrated Rewind-Say-Again recording function, which automatically records the last 20 seconds of radio traffic and lets you play it back again.
Thanks to the NMEA0183 input, GPS position data from external sources can be used with the Cobra Marine MR F57B-E's DSC function.
Rewind-Say-Again recording
The Cobra Marine MR F57B E radio has an integrated digital recording function - the exclusive Rewind-Say-Again feature. This function enables the device to record and play back the last 20 seconds of an incoming radio message. This allows you to listen to any radio message again that was difficult to understand, or if you want to write something down at your leisure.
Particularly useful if engine noise prevented you from hearing something, you can then use the Rewind-Say-Again feature to repeat the last 20 seconds of the message, which saves having to ask the caller to repeat.
NMEA0183 connection
Thanks to its NMEA0183 connection, you can enter GPS data in NMEA0183 format at 4,800 baud to the Cobra Marine MR F57B E radio from external GPS sources, such as a chartplotter. This gives you access to the latest GPS data to ensure smooth operation of the DSC function.

Burp function
The Cobra Marine MR F57B E is waterproof to IPX8 /JIS8), so it can also be mounted in outdoor areas. There's a chance then that the device could come into contact with water. Water can collect in the speaker and dampen the audio output, which can affect the quality of the sound it produces.
To prevent water from accumulating in the integrated speaker, the Cobra Marine MR F57B E has a so-called burp function. This feature emits a loud audio signal through the built-in speaker for 5 seconds, dislodging the water in the speaker.
Compact design
The compact design of the Cobra Marine MR F57B E allows the radio to be mounted even in areas with limited space, such as navigation tables at the helm. The radio can of course also be surface mounted using the included bracket or mounted over head.
Integrated self-test
Use the self-test option before you leave the safety of the harbour and head out to rough seas. The test checks for sufficient battery voltage, whether the radio is capable of transmitting at full power and that the FM radio antenna is working properly.
In emergency situations it is especially important for the radio to work reliably, so it is a good idea to check your radio equipment before every trip to make sure it is.
