Rope work by SVB: running rigging ropes require to be done by experienced riggers to achieve perfect splices which keep breaking strength of the line at its original level and for a good and low friction circulation in deck hardware such as blocks and cleats. Our riggers work with ropes made of the best fibers. We can advise you on the ropes construction and fibers for each line.
With modern fibers such as Dynnema and Vectran, sheet and halyard diameters can be greatly reduced compared to polyester lines. That means saving weight and reducing friction on deck hardware (blocks and cleats). Their fantastic breaking load figures are shown by benchmark tests and also by the personal experiences collected from many users. Feel free to call us for advice when you need new running rigging or simply when you need to replace a line and are thinking of upgrading to high modulus fiber.

Mooring, towing and anchor ropes.
These ropes must withstand pulsating loads. There are high demands on the strength and elasticity of the ropes. If the forces are transmitted undamped, the lines can break early or the fittings can burst. The desired elastic force absorption occurs through the selection of raw materials and the corresponding production techniques. Low-stretch polyester with proper cable construction for the manufacture of mooring and anchor lines in particular.
