Battery Remote Switches & Relays

Why use a battery switch on a boat?

Boats and other vehicles are equipped with one or more batteries, which are used primarily to start the engine and to supply electrical consumers such as lights, pumps, electronics, etc. with energy. The stored electrical energy in these batteries presents a certain operating hazard. Therefore, a battery switch with sufficient capacity is required to  disconnect a battery form the vehicle's electrical system. Remote controlled battery cut-off relays are also permitted, but these must also be manually operable on the relay itself.
