Which sailing gloves should I buy?
Sailing gloves offer protection from water and cold, make work on deck easier and protect against painful rope burns that could put a damper on your sailing trip. Sailing gloves are available in several versions: Gloves without fingers (or half finger gloves), gloves with fingers (or full finger gloves) or combined with open thumb / index finger, the remaining fingers are closed. Seatec Gloves

Take it into your own hands

- Gloves, with or without fingers? -

In gloves with open fingertips, the front phalanx is exposed, which allows for more fine movements when tying knots, for example. More sensitivity comes usually at the expense of thermal insulation. If you are very sensitive to heat or handle large and heavy ropes, you should opt for finger gloves or so-called helmsman gloves. These offer more grip, thermal insulation and often feature a wind and waterproof membrane.
