They last 5-6 years
I'll start with - I ordered from Canada on short notice so I knew it would not be cheap. To be fair to SVB, they double checked with me about shipping costs prior to shipping and I knew the costs and accepted them. But shipping costs on products to Canada are just insane. If I wasn't so pressed for time, I would've tried much harder to find another solution.

This part eventually disintegrates and you'll need another one after 6 years or so. I'm on my 3rd one, just part of ownership.
