The MA-500TR is a Class B AIS transponder for non-SOLAS regulated ships like leisure boats, small fishing boats, etc... The transponder transmits at fixed intervals, automatically or on request, information about your boat: MMSI code, ship name, call sign, ship type, position of the GPS antenna, ship position, SOG (speed over ground), COG (course over ground), UTC date and time, GPS antenna type and PA (position accuracy). The device receives simultaneously Class A and Class B data on two AIS channels (87B and 88B).
The display of the MA-500TR is easy to use and provides a good overview on the screen. When connected to a compatible VHF radio, it is easy to make an individual DSC call. Up to 100 waypoints can be stored in the waypoint list. The [MOB] button allows you to set a waypoint on your current position instantly. When the MA-500TR receives a safety-related message from a Class A AIS transponder, the message icon appears on the Plotter display. Up to 20 received DSC messages are automatically stored in the log memory.
The MA-500TR has a 15-pin D-SUB connector on the rear panel, providing 3-lines of NMEA input/output. The supplied NMEA connector cable simplifies the installation and connection to the VHF radio and other navigation equipment.
A GPS receiver is included: The MX-500 GPS receiver is a 12 channel parallel GPS receiver with SBAS function. A mounting kit MB-75 is sold separately (flush mount installation is possible with the optional MX-75).
Other features: full dot-matrix display with adjustable backlight and contrast, IPX7 waterproof protection (up to 1 m depth of water for 30 minutes, except connectors), self diagnostic function, slow warn function.
