„Not being the first time I have a Garmin Inreach, I bought this one after the previous one was stolen and I am extremely satisfied because it is really very small allowing to have it in a pocket and at the same time, with the access via Bluetooth we can have all the features on the phone. I consider it much more important than a MOB because while these have a 24 mile range, the Garmin is a personal Epirb with satellite connection. Just press the SOS button and a message is sent with our location. The SMS service is fantastic for communications with land that we can use for weather routing or just to let you know that everything is ok on board. A must have for anyone who is at sea.“

„Clumsy menu arrangement. Un-intuitive functions arranged and buried in sub-menus. In-Reach reminds me my old hand-held Garmin GPSMap of 18 years ago. It would have been so easy for Garmin to just make a rugged iPhone version with a GPS antenna and global service. No rocket science. An overpriced gadget that is neither a proper GPS, or sat-phone or for that matter an essential piece of gear to use in an emergency situation single-handed. Sorry !“
