Attaching a fitting through the hull of a boat is no easy task. Whether a threaded through-hull fitting, brass through-hull or a thru hull with hose connection, the attachment must be well sealed to prevent water entering the hull. Please note that when selecting thru hulls for underwater use, you can only install stainless steel, brass or high-grade plastic through hulls. All thru hulls below the waterline should be backed up by shut-off valves, the hoses must be secured with two stainless steel clamps. Above the waterline, you can use thru hulls made out of simple plastic material.
